It's Monday, the sun is shining and it looks like the weather will be great for racing tomorrow evening.  There's nothing like BMX in the summer!

This past weekend was a busy one for members of Erik Goetzinger BMX.  On Saturday the finals of the Vancouver Island Challenge Series took place at Nanaimo BMX and 5 of our members came away with 7 Vancouver Island Challenge titles.

Tianna Fretz, Vancouver Island Champion - 6 year-old girls.

Taylor Fretz, Vancouver Island Champion - 9 year-old boys.

Aiden Grecht, Vancouver Island Champion - 6 year-old boys.

Alex Grecht, Vancovuer Island Champion - 7 year-old boys and 7 boys cruiser.

Alison Grecht, Vancouver Island Champion - 9 year-old girls and 9 girls cruiser.

Congratulations on your accomplishments!

On Sunday, Erik Goetzinger BMX and Nanaimo BMX participated in Kids Fest in Parksville.  A big THANK YOU to Randy, Brandon and Amanda Little from Nanaimo BMX who drove up the ABA Canada van and helped out at the event.  Steven Creighton also of Nanaimo BMX came up to help as well.  From Erik Goetzinger BMX, Sara and Brad Paddock talked with people and handed out information and Richard and Jamie Fretz provided the generator so that BMX videos could be played at the booth.  Thank you to those from Erik Goetzinger and Nanaimo BMX who stopped by the booth and helped out.

The Kids Fest booth wouldn't have happened without Robert and Trisha Grecht who put all this together.  Thank You!

Check out the photos from Kids Fest on the Photos page.

Finally, one of the long standing Erik Goetzinger members had a great weekend off the BMX track.  16 year-old Sheldon Trees, who started racing at Erik Goetzinger BMX at the age of 7, was up in Comox trying out for the Comox Valley Glacier Kings of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League.  He had a great weekend and will be starting the season with the Glacier Kings.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the track on Tuesday.
